Fly Away is a 2011 Independent American dramatic film written and directed by Emmy Award-winning Janet Grillo, and starring Beth BroderickAshley RickardsGreg GermannJR Bourne, Reno, Elaine Hall, and Zachariah Palmer.  "Treading warily into territory that few dramas dare to explore, 'Fly Away' is a defiantly unsentimental look at the complex codependency between a harried single mother and her severely autistic daughter." The New York Times

Made as a SAG Ultra-Low Budget Independent Film, and shot in 14 days, Fly Away premiered as 1 of 8 out of 2000 submissions in Dramatic Competition at the South by Southwest Film Festival in Austin, Texas in March 2011.

Janet Grillo is a critically acclaimed filmmaker, Emmy Award winning Producer, and former Studio Executive. She directed the award winning Jack of the Red Hearts, wrote/directed/produced the critically acclaimed Fly Away, Executive Produced the Emmy Award winning HBO documentary, Autism: The Musical, and oversaw the cult classic House Party series, when a creative executive at New Line Cinema. She is a full time Arts Professor at NYU Tisch School of the Arts, Kanbar Institute of Film and Television.
