A Poem and a Mistake - Filmed Play, followed by Talk with playwright Cheri Magid, and actor Sarah Baskin, moderator Will Nixon

  • Orpheum Theater 156 Main Street Saugerties, NY 12477 United States (map)

A Poem and a Mistake is a magical and terrifying confrontation with gender, sexuality, power, desire… and Ovid’s Metamorphosis.

Presented at Australian Centre for Contemporary Art, The Sydney Morning Herald raves, “It’s a fantastic consolation for the art-viewing public that ACCA has managed to screen A Poem and A Mistake.”

Written by Cheri Magid, Off Broadway playwright; writer on TV’s Emmy award-winning children’s show, Arthur, librettist, "Penelope and the Geese." Created with, and performed by, Sarah Baskin, a NYC based actor on Off-Broadway and in film/TV, recently, CBS’s “The Equalizer,” and HBO’s “Gossip Girl” reboot. Directed by Tamilla Woodard, national and international theatre director, Chair of the Acting Department at Yale School of Drama, and One of “50 Women to Watch on Broadway.”
