It’s Spring, and ShoutOut returns to the Library Green providing safe arts entertainment for audiences. Our series of play readings, directed by Sydnie Grossberg Ronga and Beth Troxell and chosen from competition among Hudson Valley playwrights, begins Saturday, April 17 & and continues Sunday, April 18th. Saugerties Library, 91 Washington Ave. 

trigger (happy) whisper (hush) by Alanna Coby
After a tragic accident that left her paralyzed from the waist down, ZZ spends her days creating ASMR (autonomous sensory meridian response) videos for a YouTube channel. As ZZ's world shrinks, a competition with a fellow YouTube star, and the desires of a mysterious Donor, force ZZ to confront the loss she has locked herself away from.

Because readings are outside, please bring blankets or chairs. Masks are required and we will socially distance. The readings are  free; donations are encouraged and graciously accepted.

Alanna Coby is a playwright, performer, producer, and teaching artist. Her plays have been developed through residencies with SITI Company, Mabou Mines, The Drama League, Dixon Place, and IRT Theater. A proud founding member of The Syndicate, an ensemble theatre company that produces new plays by women, queer and trans+ artists, Alanna is pursuing an MFA in Dramatic Writing at NYU,, where she is the recipient of a Tisch Graduate Award Scholarship and the Dalio Family Merit Scholarship.
